This game has actually beaten Halo 3 in the GameFAQs favourites! The game Phantom Hourglass is based on the travels of the Legendary Hero: Link, where we pick up from the Gamecube's Windwaker. The story is drastically different from the Original Windwaker, as no signs of Ganondorf are found in this game (Much like the Majora's Mask version). The storyline is quite interesting... sorry, lost track! The story picks up from when Link leaves his home island and travels with Tetra and her pirate crew and all seems well. The thorn in this rose appears in the form of the Ghost Ship, which has been stealing people's life force for an evil creature know simply as Bellum. Tetra hops aboard and was instantly attacked in the first few seconds of boarding. Link tries to board the Ghost Ship but falls into the water. The story gains speed as you find out how to find the Ghost Ship (by saving the spirits of Power, Wisdom, and Courage), then you learn that the only way to destroy Bellum is with the Legendary Phantom Sword (forged of three pure metals) and eventually saving the Ocean King from the clutches of Bellum! The graphics seem quite well done for a DS game like Phantom Hourglass (Unless you look really close) and many adjustments can be made to your ship by collecting parts of the same set. The weapons aren't numerous, and you don't get special arrows for your bows, but you can empower your sword and shield by utilizing the spirits you have obtained through special gems. There isn't much for replay value (Mainly because you can save before boarding the Ghost Ship for the last battle) and you can't adjust the camera view on the numerous islands (You can only do that on the ship). This game still has lots of potential and if you want to make the most out of the game, you can try collecting all the gems and Treasure Maps! This game is my favourite and I hope this gives you a fair idea on what to expect in this game!
Graphics:4/5 (I especially like the graphics from a Power Spirit-Enhanced Sword)
Storyline:4.5/5 (It's interesting to listen to the many stories told throughout)
Controls:3/5 (It would've been nice to also use the D-Pad)
Overall Rating:11.5/15
Personal Rating:13.5/15 (I liked the treasures and Golden Ship Parts)
