1,000 VC Games Sold Every Hour on the WiiThe success of the Nintendo Wii's virtual console has exceeded all expectations. Nintendo announced this morning that more than 4.7 million games have been purchased from the Wii's Virtual Console Channel. This results in 1,000 Virtual Console games sold every hour since the systems launch.
The NES version of Super Mario Bros. was the most popular game on the Viurtual Console Channel, with the Legend of Zelda (NES), Mario Kart (N64), Super Mario World (SNES) and Super Mario 64 (N64) being behind it.
Finally, to celebrate this accomplishment, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link will be released today on the Virtual Console - which will also just so happen to be the 100th game to be released on the Wii's Virtual Console Channel.
