DS MP3 player/who cares?Let's face it, if you wanted a multimedia device you would've bought a PSP, not a DS.
However, there's been some music add-ons by Nintendo like the Play-Yan. Sadly that add-on stayed in Japan.
This is where the Nintendo DS MP3 Player comes in. It made a surprise appearance on the Liepzeig Games Convention.....a nice appearance.
The MP3 Player add-on will, surprisingly, make an appearance on stores across Europe for the small price of 29.99 Euros. No release dates were announced but it is expected to be released around the time of the Opera Browser (October 28th) in Europe.
The add-on goes into the Game Boy Advance slot in the DS. The device will also be playable on any Game Boy Advance (GBA, GBA SP, GBM). To store the music, you'll need SD cards (up to 2 GB can be found on the market). The 2 GB SD card will provide around 500 hours of music. You will also have the useless but nice option to change skins for the MP3 Player, this means you'll chose how you want the menus to look.
Pretty nice, but a bit too late. People have accepted the DS as a gaming machine and the PSP as multimedia. And the popularity of iPods and other devices is too much for this add-on to fight against.Besides, having to buy your own SD card will make it cost around $80-200 in America and Europe.
Too little, too late, Nintendo.
I don't really care about this. You can buy them already for cheaper. I don't listen to alot of music so I have no intensions of buying it. I'll just get the other one.

it doesn't seem to be worth buying unless it is insanely cheap...
any normal flash cart can do that, and mine works exactly the same + it has some "extra functions" ;)
