how i think they should solve the online chat issuei have a concept that i think would be cool if they used. i made a crude edit to an older version of the remote/nunchuck.
her it is:
it's very crude, but i think it get's the idea across
they could just have a little pass through device that plugs in before the other attachment (chuk, classic) and then you could use it like a phone. the speaker would be sort of close to your ear.
i got this from watching my sister play no more heroes. when she got the phone call that does nothing (what's that about anyway?) she put it up to her ear and started saying hello :p

I actually like the fact there is no voice chat, I don't want this turning into the trash talking and racism that is Halo 3 and CoD4.

yeah i wondered why they didn't use built in mic for some kind of communication in heroes or BWii. i'm still up for a match if anyone ever gets those games even though i'm just average at heroes and rusty as heck at BWii.

still, only thing i talk to people online is halo 3, and that is to either talk to my teamate, or make fun of someone (rarly run into ass wholes for some reason) but i never had a problem with nintendos censor ship. i think its a great idea because of all the ass holes, but i still think they should have made that an option though. but not talking to people doesnt bother me at all. unless its with one of you guys but what are you gona do? smash bros is coming out and i dont care the fact of the matter is, brawl has online. which voice chat or no, is amazing

odds are, we'll eventually see a mic sometime in wii's future.
i just think it would feel natural to put it to your ear like a phone with the built in speaker where it is. and this way seems like a pretty easy way to implement it.

halo 3 i only use it to say AWW HECK NO VETO THIS GARBAGE. but in any game where voting/coordination (oh my gosh co-op without mic is death) is required, you need some way to communicate with your teammates. lol i've actually said "he's right behind you" out loud while playing MOH.

a usb Wireless headset. you stick a little usb thingy in the back and make the headset wireless.
