Wii Launch data:
Wii will launch at $250 in the U.S. on November 9th.

Controller Prices:
WiiMote will sell for $39.99. The nunchuck $19.99.

Colours:
Wii will only launch in one color. White.

Metroid Prime 3:

Pokemon will be the first game to be online

DVD:
When talking to IGN Wii, Perrin Kaplan, vice president of marketing and coporate affairs, announced, as rumour suggested, DVD playback functionality has been taken out of the Wii. This means Wii owners wont be able to watch Hollywood DVD movies through vie the Wii. The decision was made to cut the price of the machine even futher. Nintendo don't see this as a downfall of the Wii as most people already own a DVD player.

Nintendo Wii has, as you probably know, the Opera browser built right it. But to use it for other than Nintendo's site you have to pay an unspecified one time amount of money, using the prepaid Wii Points system. But once you've done that, you're free to surf to any page and run any Flash based games. Existing games should run pretty smoothly and there will probably pop up online Wii portals dedicated to Flash games.

It's a big opportunity for homebrew developers as anyone can easily write code that can run on the Nintendo Wii. This will only further enhance the online experience of Wii, which is already well developed. Full web browsing ability from the comfort of your couch, with a controller which even beats using a wireless mouse, and now it even supports Flash? This makes Wii the perfect surf machine, and we can just hope it'll support wireless keyboards, or that someone will develop one of it. If not, the Wiimote can still work pretty well for inputting text. Lets just hope the online aspect of the games are as polished and as thought out as the web interface.

Wii is a console that does much more than we ever expected it to, and the first multimedia console Nintendo has released. With its built in photo managing application and intergrated web experience, it's sure to be much more than just a games console.

I'm definitely getting either Diamond or Pearl, when they come out. The interesting part, is how they'll integrate the wii-mote funtion into another Pokémon console game.
