If life eternally sucks than you should count your blessings, no matter how small, and be happy that you will never make a lie out of your misery. If you know your life has gone downhill and have the guts to acknowledge this fact, it will be better than before you did.

If you can admit to yourself that it sucks, you'll feel better than before and help ease the pain a little. You may still feel like God gave you a nut shot but it's a step further out of the hole.
