Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian thinks that even if Nintendo started to produce nearly 1.5 million Nintendo Wii consoles a month that still wouldn’t be enough to meet the high demand. Could this mean we could be seeing Wii shortages until 2008? Details inside…

Colin Sebastian stated at the end of the Nintendo Summit: "We believe that Nintendo may be near its targeted monthly Wii production of approximately 1.5 million units per month, based on comments made by Nintendo, as well as retailers such as GameStop," Sebastian said. "Based on our retail channel checks, demand still appears to exceed supply, and we believe that shortages could persist through the remainder of the year, including the key holiday period."

He also finally suggested that, based on conversations at the Nintendo Summit, Nintendo was more aggressively pursuing third party publisher support for its systems (Wii/DS) more than ever before.

Yeah, they need to get their shit straight because I have had a few friends go get a 360 instead of a wii just because they cant get one RIGHT NOW! I hope they pick it up, I would hate to see this system die because of shortages.
