Recreational player tournament

for those of us who totally admit we can't do much more than lightly spar with the pros/don't have time to anyway. lemme know how this sounds: fridays at 7:00 eastern i'll host open matches, anybody can join. those who rack up the least wins will be sorted into a bracket to determine the best of the worst. i'll do this for a couple weeks because its for no-timers.

hahaha. the 360 has voice chat on most games. without the person being your friend. but if you really want to be protected, you can turn off everybody else's voice but your friend's. ps3 i don't think has much security like that. and wii forces you to accept protection against being talked to even though you don't want it. anyway people match being hosted tomorrow, time's unchanged. *prays no strange circumstances come up like they always do*

Ah, I see! I still think we could benefit from a microphone attachment, or even a special type of microphone' that can also allow stuff like the Nunchuk to still be used.

Hello everyone. It is currently 7:00 Eastern on Friday. And NOBODY'S ON. lol. since im here right now im obviously not in front of my wii so maybe someone joined, but please get on and lets do this if you're reading this before an hour from now.

You were pretty strong as Metaknight. I still think there should be more people online at one time, 'cause it'd be fun to battle on a free-for-all Brawl.

yeah both good games. 1-1. lol the lag is a pain though; on luigi's mansion it was hard to hit you because we would both be in a different place when the attack registered, and there was some slow motion on battlefield i think. and yeah come on people i told everyone when the matches would be. although lokker one of my friends came in and one of his friends followed right after you left, but one of them was massively laggy anyway. (forget slow motion, just full stops in the middle of the game)

ill keep hosting open matches at the same time if possible.

I'll try and get on then, I could use the practice.

actually yes i was going to suggest that, as i was becoming afraid that it would just be us two having friday night brawls instead of an open (and paradoxical considering the nature) tournament qualifier. Just record the wins/losses of those participating.

alright everyone here's my general idea on how this is going to work: there will be two brackets, one for those who can never win, another for those who can never play. (those who are truly the "recreational" gamers.) rather than the way a bracket is normally set up, high vs. low seeds, the best people will be pitted against each other in the early rounds to force them to eliminate each other. the size of the brackets is related to the showing we have on fridays (i'll post if I'm unable to host at any point), and i'm planning to make the initial judgement as to placement and tournament size following three more of my friday opens. (the first being this coming one, 7pm eastern still.) There will be opportunities to play on saturday at 8 with lokker as host as well. if you consider yourself a recreational player, but do not wish to/cannot participate in these opens, feel free to merely submit your screen name and ssbb name as a potential entrant. (those who CAN not, explain and you'll receive a low seeding, those who WILL not, you will receive a high seeding and play better players in the early rounds.)

if the forums as a whole don't respond positively i'll be filling 2 or 3 positions with friends of mine and the tournament will still continue with those few who've expressed interest.

For me it's mostly to hear K.K. Slider at Smashville. Whoever is registered as META, let me know who you are. I got my ass handed to me by the guy and it was with a different character each time.

I think something's happening next week; we'll see. oh yeah i'm volunteering, so it'll be later next friday or on sat/sun instead. assuming anybody indicates a preference. 2 more opens to go. again, you can just submit your name otherwise and still be entered.

Tournaments have been unsuccessful so far but I pray this will work out when we have a definite reason to be on for more than just 10 minutes (Give or take). I'm still hoping for Animal Crossing to come out this year.

alright im volunteering tomorrow for a career fair kinda thing from like 5-9pm. you guys want 10pm matches or extend this one more week or just count lokker's smashville sessions this week?
