myspace style "online now" area

on myspace, when one of your friends is online, a small message under thier avatar tells you so. what i'm suggesting is that we implement a similar function in these forums.

whenever you're playing a game and open for challenges, we should have a setup in the index, under all the arcade scores telling everyone else we're up for few matches of whatever game we have running at the time.

as far as i'm thinking now, it would ideally work like this:
-a drop down menu will be displayed in the top of the guild index along with the profile, private messages, search, etc...
-in the menu, there will be a selection of the most popular online games.
-we click on the menu, pick a button, and a list of who's playing what will appear somewhere on the forum index.
-it will be timed to shut off after an hour to keep from getting a viewers hopes up when they see that someone is playing thier favorite game, only to log on and see they're not there
-it could possibly be color coded, or put into a list: first showing the game title, the under that, all the forum members playing that title

Yeah you just need a strip of code , to do that bkonch if it can be implemented on FF i dunno , but it should be.

i just realized... it would get pretty annoying if someone clicked on taht they were playing and then forgot. so... like a 1-hour timer would probably be a good idea

Hmm, well it definatly sounds like a good idea. What do you mean tho, like arcade games? Or SSBB and those type of games? Hmm, lol I know an ok amount of html, I'm not sure how much I know to make anything real crazy like that though.

brawl of course.
maybe a few ds games. maybe even halo and cod4.

but if it's easier to do just one, then brawl is all anyone cares about right now

Or we could try the hub idea on friendcodes.com. Assuming this idea doesn't work.

I know I could get that, but how to get it to interact with whether or not you are online in SSBB or any other game would be beyond me.

you could have a button next to it saying a couple of games and just have it put the name of the person up when they click it
