If you've had enough of hearing the Mencia/Rogan arguments and people trying to keep original in their comedy routines, then this is the place for you! I know it sounds dumb to post this in the debate forum, but it at least proves how much certain celebrities can whine about something so trivial.

Uhhhhhhh. huh? Point to debate: the cult of celebrity has created a materialistic, reckless, oblivious society in our modern world that has its priorities all screwed up. The fact that anyone listens to them whine or reports on them wining or actually CARES about their wining proves that.

My point to the whole thing is that originality has a place for it, and I don't think jokes fit in this category. Most people get annoyed at people from ripping off a style or a routine of any form and I can understand that. If you take a person's 100% original joke, it's not like they can do anything about it. But, when a celebrity starts bugging people that they stole their act, I'd personally ask for a paper that says "this act is personal property and any use of it without consent will be legally acted upon." If you don't actually have a document saying that what you do as part of any thespian or comedic routine is yours, then don't fucking complain!

Look at the Wii News! J.K. Rowling is suing some guy for copyright infringement when he created the Harry Potter Lexicon! The only reason that guy did was some book publisher said that it wasn't infringing.
