Guide to Sig Making in Fireworks

Follow along, ok cause its gonna be long. I will use an example sig. Very Happy

Starting
1.) Select Create New Fireworks file
2.) Change Width to 450 and Height to 125 and then click Ok
3.) Now select the Marquee Tool and select the entire background
4.) Now, click the Gradient Tool by selecting the Paintbucket tool and hitting G on the keyboard
5.) The first bar at the bottom of the screen will say Linear. Click it and select Cone.
6.) ^Below this bar, there will be one that is labeled Texture. Select that, and pick Grass.
7.) Now look up again by the first bar, and you'll see a Color Selection box. Open it and pick Colbalt. Now your ready to start!

Background
1.) Click the background once. You'll notice a faint pattern appear.
2.) Go to the bar that says Normal at the end of the Properties. Select Multiply.
3.) Now start clicking the background a few times. The pattern gets darker and color becomes visible. Press until happy.
4.) Now add your name by selecting the Text Tool and pick the font of your choosing.

Adding Images
1.) Select an image off the internet, right click, and select Copy
2.) Back in Fireworks, select the Pointer Tool (black arrow)
3.) Now hit Ctrl+V or Paste and resize the image how you like
4.) Now, you should notice that the white background is still around the image. To get rid of it, keep the image selected and go over to where it says Normal again and change it to either Darken or Multiply
5.) The white stuff dissapears and your image becomes faint and see-through. Now just place it where you want and you have your sig!

ok now how do i resize it? the image, and what if i dont want the image faded in the back ground?

And resize by click and holding the corners and moving them around, like in Paint.

Use the pointer tool and then double click the image. You can only resize it if its got a blue outline around the image after you click it! Very Happy

HA I FIGURED IT OUT! woot! what you do is if you dont want to have it all faded, what you do is make sure you have it on the black curser thingy, and left click and somewere there should be an option, to send to front back or left right, im not sure if you need to do this, then you go to the ERASER, and on the bottom right you see the little checkers looking thing, you put that to 100 percent, then erase the white away, it only gets rid of the whitness,a and not the back ground. ill be done with my sig soon
