the rumor mill

looking over the net the last few days, some fairly credible sources have been making some bold statements. here's the one i found most interesting:

there's some hackers out there that have their hand on a japanese copy of smash bros. They've been able to rip both layers (it's the first dual layer wii game) onto a computer and translate an immense amount of data. a few of thier findings:

-a song from super mario rpg was once in the game, but was removed. evidenced by a blank track that kept its label.
>shows geno may have been in the game at some point.
-music tracks, voice recordings, and various other data for dixie, roy, and mewtwo are in playable condition.
>shows they might be available on the yet-to-be-released versions of the game, or maybe downloadable when all regions have the game available

they also said there was data for Dr.mario, plusle and minum and toon zelda.

nah those arnt true. well dont know about the music, because i think theres a song from final fantasy in it. but yeah ive read those rumors, yeah i dought there real.

thy're definately real as far as the data found. but just because there are fragments of information about a couple characters doesn't mean there will ever be anything more to it... that part of it is the rumor

if you can actually find a place to download a proper dual layer iso rip for the game, there are tools out there that let you tear apart and view the information in a readable way. it works sort of like a .zip or .rar -it's compressed and hacked wiis decompress and play them. if you find the right program, you can decompress it and read all the different files and folders within the game's programming. i'm sure people would have done this anyway, but the only reason it's getting any level of attention were the theories that square-enix/geno were the reason behind the one month delay.

he says no downloadable content, but that doesn't mean that other regions won't get an updated game... japan gets them all the time

I always thought hidden stuff in games that wasn't used but was still in the games data was kinda cool stuff too.

yea it pretty much shows that person could have been in the game
but they decided not to :P

final fantasy music arrgghhh should have been in there. some cool music in those games.

new rumor is:

metroid prime trilogy is on its way to wii

some store database has an item listed under that name

so far, that's all there is to the rumor. everything else is speculation.
the obvious assumption is that the first 2 will be given the wii control makeover

what i'm hoping for is a massive overhaul of the multiplayer in prime 2. something on par with or even better than that in mph. meaning: more levels (all the kick-ass scenes from all games), more characters (incuding an assortment of space pirates, especially the ones with the jetpacks), online, more weapons
